7/21/14 5:45 pm Town of Carlton Evacuation Level Reduced - Carlton

Okanogan County Emergency Management confirms that the Town of Carlton is now under an Evacuation Level 2. Remember, wildfires are dynamic and situations can change rapidly. Even if evacuations have not reached Level 3, you should be prepared to leave. Your safety and well being is of paramount importance. If you don't feel safe, leave! As the explanation below describes, you may not receive further notice. Don't wait for the Sheriff's department to contact you if the situation makes you uncomfortable. While it may be stressful to leave your belongings behind, even temporarily, life and safety are more important than material possessions. Don't take threats lightly.
Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office Evacuation Levels

LEVEL 1: Persons are warned that current or projected threats from hazards associated with the approaching fires are severe.  This is the time to prepare.

LEVEL 2: Conditions indicate a good probability that hazards associated with the approaching fires will severely limit our ability to provide emergency service protection. You must prepare to leave at a moment’s notice.  This may be the only notice that you receive.

LEVEL 3:  Current conditions present specific and immediate threats to the life and safety of persons within this area.  You are advised to evacuate immediately.
