This is called a progression map. It is produced in the later days of a fire to tell the story of the fire's progression from the beginning. They usually show most dramatically, the most active day, which here you can see is colored dark green. Use the legend to determine which color tracks which date.

Nice looking map. Once opened I still can't read the legend. What's the secret?
