Community Meeting at 6:00 PM Saturday, July 26 at The RV Park Roadhouse Restaurant in Carlton.
Fire Operations: Cooler temperatures assisted firefighters the last few days and progress continues on the Carlton Complex. Firefighters worked throughout the night on Thursday, securing line and providing point protection. The fire is now 55% contained, with a total acreage of 250,489. Today, resources will continue extending and improving fire lines.
Safety Message: On Wednesday the area received significant wind gusts, reaching upwards to 40 mph at the higher elevations. On Thursday, 30 mph winds were recorded on area ridge tops. These winds may have further weakened trees already damaged by wildfire. Residents need to be aware the potential for falling tree debris exists.
Weather Message: Over the next few days the area can expect hot and dry
conditions, with temperatures getting into the 90’s. Clear and sunny skies are forecasted, which
may expose holdover lightning strikes.
Fire crews will remain vigilant in responding to any smoke reports
