This is today's IR map. The IR flight was taken, and data collected, at 1:23 am this morning (29th). Due to the conditions on the east side of the fire, in an area south of Forest Road 4225 and about 3 miles NW of the ski resort, there will be a burnout conducted this morning. Fire Operations personnel say there is a significant amount of jackstrawed, dead and down timber & beetle kill with the fire is pushing into that area, so they are concerned it might get established in that area and run east.
The burnout should begin about 9 am this morning. It's not a very large burn, but there will likely be a plume visible from the Conconully and Pearrygin Lake areas. Expect to see increased air traffic as crews work to keep the fire on the ground and low intensity.
