7/25/14 7:00 pm Firefighters Made Good Progress in Carlton-Winthrop Zone

Well, things are looking pretty good on the fire.  Much of the Libby Creek area has line around it as firefighters worked hard to get it secure before the hotter, drier weather begins in earnest. There is still some open line with active fire in the steep, southwestern corner of the zone that is presenting a challenge and the area is being assessed for a more accessible place to put in line.  Some line was built north of Hwy 20 and all in all, fire managers feel they made good progress today.
