A Red Cross shelter is being set-up tonight, Sunday, July 20th, at the Brewster High School (503 S. 7th in Brewster). The shelter will be open at 9:00pm.
Evacuating residents should bring:
• Prescription and emergency medications
• Foods that meet unusual dietary requirements
• Identification and important personal documents
• Extra clothing, pillows, blankets, towels, hygiene supplies and other comfort items
• Supplies needed for children and infants, such as diapers, formula and toys
• Special items for family members who are elderly or disabled
• Note: Public health regulations do not permit pets in shelters. Trained assistance animals are permitted.
Other Red Cross shelters that continue to be in operation include:
· The Winthrop Barn - 51 N Hwy 20, Winthrop
· Chelan High School - 215 W. Webster Ave. Chelan
· Cornerstone Christian Fellowship - 328 N Riverside, Omak
The following shelters have been closed due to changing conditions and lifted evacuation notices
· Cheney - Cheney Middle School, 2716 N. 6th St., Cheney – CLOSED 7/20
· Leavenworth - First Baptist Church of Leavenworth, 429 Evans St., Leavenworth – CLOSED 7/20
· Kittitas Secondary School - 7571 Kittitas Hwy, Ellensburg – CLOSED 7/20
The Red Cross has Emergency Response Vehicles doing mobile feeding in area communities including Chelan/Twisp. Emergency Response Vehicles will also be present with food and water at the community meetings at Brewster High School tonight at 7:00pm and Omak High school tonight at 7:00pm.
