We recieved this email today, it was a great way to start the day! We have appreciated the outpouring of support for the incident personal throughout this incident by the community.
"Greetings!
Please pass this on to anyone working hard on the fighting the fires.
This last weekend we were caught on the river during the crazy thunderstorm this past Saturday.
We took shelter at a kind woman's house along the banks. We listened
to and watched trees falling right and left. We watched lightening
strike and new fires start. By the time the wind let up enough for us
to get to our take out (maybe 45 minutes), the highway had already been
cleared of fallen trees. As we drove home we passed a line of
firefighters standing on the side of the road. I wanted to convey to
each one of them how impressed and thankful I was for their hard work.
While we took shelter, they worked. While we sat at home recovering,
they jumped from planes in to remote areas to fight fires. Thank you,
thank you, thank you. Whether pilot, ground crew, administration or
some job description I am unaware of, thank you. Your hard work is
impressive and important!"
Welcome to the Upper Falls/Little Bridge Fire blog (Formerly the Carlton Complex), the official site for information on the Upper Falls and Little Bridge Creeks fires or any new fires in the Methow Valley Ranger District and surrounding areas. The blog is posted by the Information Officers on the Great Basin Type 1 Incident Management Team, Team 1. We encourage your comments below each post. Please let us know how we're doing.
Thank you, thank you! The work done and the progress made has been amazing. We so appreciate the efforts! It's been a crazy few weeks here in this special Valley, and when we see all of the firefighters, air support, National Guard, line crews, etc etc we feel like the Cavalry is here to save us and it's going to be OK! :)
