8.10 Fire Update


Carlton Complex Update   August 10, 2014         8:00 a.m.

Yesterday: 
Crews continued to patrol, mop-up, and secure lines on all areas of the fire. Suppression repair work (water barring, scattering slash, smoothing berms) continued as did back haul of equipment from the fire line to the Incident Command Post. Crews identified a few small areas of heat inside the fire line which they mopped-up. Night crews patrolled, mopped-up and responded to 911 calls.
Today: 
Crews will patrol, mop-up, and secure lines. Suppression repair work and gathering equipment for return to the ICP will continue.  Night crews will patrol,  mop-up, and respond to 911 calls. The Washington National Guard continues to staff road closures.

Evacuations  (including all evacuations in the Methow Valley area)

Level 1:  Pine Forest, Sun Mountain Resort, East Chewuch Road to Boulder Creek, Pearrygin Lake State Park, and along the Twisp River from Elbow Coulee to the Forest boundary. 

No areas are in Level 2 or 3.

Closures

The East Chewuch Road is closed at the Forest Boundary (Chewuch River bridge) to provide a safe travel route for fire vehicles involved on the Upper Falls fire.
