Evacuation Level Change

Evacuation Levels were re-evaluated this morning for the Carlton Complex and Rising Eagle Road Fire south of Winthrop. The following are the current closures and evacuations as of Saturday, August 02, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Evacuations will again be re-evaluated tomorrow.
Level 3:  Wandling Road Rising Eagle Road Hill Drive
Signal Hill

Level 2:

Twin Lakes Road to Wolf Creek intersection Sun Mountain Ranch
Sun Mountain Resort Pine Forest
Upper Bear Creek Road
East Chewuch Road to Boulder Creek
Pearrygin Lake State Park is closed for the weekend.

Level 1:

Winthrop City

Closures:

Highway 20 now OPEN to all traffic.
The Forest Closure Order has been expanded to include a larger area to the north of the Carlton Complex. Current closure information can be obtained by calling the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest (509) 996-4000 or on the web at http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/okawen/alerts-noticesFor information on highway closures: Washington Department of Transportation, www.wsdot.wa.gov. 



American Red Cross Evacuation Centers

The American Red Cross has opened two evacuation centers: the Methow Valley Community Center, 201 S. Methow Valley Highway, in Twisp, and the Mazama Community Church, 18202 Highway 20, in Mazama, due to Level 2 evacuations called in the Winthrop and Level 3 in Sun Mountain areas. Download the Red Cross shelter app at: http://www.redcross.org/mobile-apps/shelter-finder-app and wildfire apps http://www.redcross.org/mobile-apps/wildfire-app to keep up to date.
